The Blue Marble Radical Cup North America season finale transpired this past weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca where championship battles came to a close. Rookie Jace Bacon entered the weekend in contention for the Pro 1340 championship but had to settle for the runner-up position over the 18-race season.
Jace, although running towards the front in race one, got caught up in a bit of track carnage, relegating him to sixth when the checkered flag flew. In race two, Bacon was able to make a comeback, claiming the second step on the podium, just behind his Crown Racing teammate Chris McMurry and just ahead of his father Seth Bacon, making it a Crown Racing podium sweep. Race three left Bacon sitting just inside of the top-five, securing his second-place position in the Pro 1340 championship.
“It’s a shame we couldn’t clinch the championship title this weekend,” expresses Jace. “But, runner up is the next best thing. Beating out my dad for second was just the cherry on top. I learned a lot this season and think that knowledge will help me for years to come. The Crown Racing team has been an amazing support system this whole season and has taught me so much that I’ll carry into my racing career.”
Jace would like to thank all of his supporters this season, his fans, family and friends as well as Crown Racing for all their hard work this season.
“Thank you to Joey Martin and Curtis Brown for their knowledge and support this year. The whole Crown Racing team performed amazingly this year, and I couldn’t have asked for a better team in my first year of racing.”
