We are working on finishing up this 1968 Shelby GT500 restomod project here at Crown. This car came to us in very rough shape and since it has arrived we have brought new life into it. It is always great to see it looking more complete every day. Make sure to check out past blog posts to see our progress from the beginning. Although not an original restoration, this restomod will be retaining a lot of original parts as well as a mostly original style and look. Make so mistake though this car is being built to perform as a driver on the street and the track.
With the rebuilt 427 test fitted, we have moved on to fabricating the dry sump oil system and installing the front suspension and Wilwood brakes. We went with a wide track front suspension from Heidts.
For the rear we have installed an independent rear suspension from a 2003 Mustang SVT Cobra.
We have also installed the fuel tank and Aeromotive fuel sending unit.
