The build in detail.
Some cars do not need an introduction, and the 1957 Corvette is one of them. That chrome-toothed grille and those endless curves are American shorthand for speed before a wheel ever turns. So when Crown decided to build one for itself rather than a client, the brief was simple and demanding at once: build it the exact way Crown would tell any customer to build their car. No shortcuts, no half measures.
Off came the original frame and driveline, tired after six decades of use. The shell went up on a lift for the kind of inspection that decides what gets saved and what gets replaced, panel by panel, chrome piece by chrome piece. It is slow work, and it is the only way to know exactly what you are building on top of.
Underneath, this Corvette is getting a full Roadster Shop chassis, a fully independent front and rear suspension built for a vehicle nobody ever designed to handle like this. Power comes from a supercharged LT4 crate V8 rated at 640 horsepower, backed by a GM 8-speed automatic, with four-wheel disc brakes to match the newfound speed. It is the kind of drivetrain swap that turns a beautiful old shape into something genuinely quick.
Above the chassis, the plan calls for a retro-styled custom interior, fresh glass and trim, and paint that respects the original 1957 lines while looking every bit as new as what is underneath them. When it is finished, this Corvette will not just be Crown’s own build. It will be the calling card for what Crown can do when nobody is watching the clock but Crown itself.
