Bare metal.
Reborn in red.

The build in detail.

There is a particular kind of madness that takes hold when a man decides a 1968 Shelby GT500 should not merely be restored, but reborn. Dr. Don Hill never wanted a museum piece roped off behind velvet. He wanted a fastback he could wake on a cool Tucson morning, drop into gear, and drive the way Carroll Shelby always meant it to be driven. Hard. Loud. Grinning.

So Crown Customs took the car down to bare metal and began again. A new front end. A new firewall. Structural stiffening welded into the bones of the thing until the shell stood straighter and stronger than the day it first left the line. Then the color went on, Candy Apple Red laid deep and wet, split by white Le Mans stripes and the classic three-bar rockers, every line sprayed in and cleared. Not a scrap of vinyl anywhere.

Lift the hood and the conversation turns serious. A rebuilt Ford V8 wears Cobra Le Mans valve covers and draws its breath through Borla’s 8-Stack EFI, eight individual throttle bodies standing like organ pipes. Ceramic long-tube headers feed a Borla ProXS stainless exhaust that clears its throat, then howls. Behind it, a rebuilt manual gearbox and a cabin trimmed to order, a bespoke console stitched in black and red, a full bank of custom gauges watching over the driver.

It rolls on 17-inch ten-spokes flecked with Candy Apple Red and wrapped in Pirelli, and it wears its ‘427’ fender badges and ‘Fuel Injection’ script the way a fighter wears old scars, proudly, and with something to prove. This is no trailer queen. This is a GT500 built to be driven, and to make you feel every year of its legend the instant you turn the key.

Under the hood, power comes from a fully rebuilt 289 cubic-inch Small Block Ford V8, appropriately detailed in Ford BlueBorla 8-Stack EFI , individual throttle bodies. The engine is paired with a completely rebuilt C4 automatic transmission, breathing through a custom-fabricated exhaust systemAluminum radiator with twin electric fans.

Upgraded front suspension with rack-and-pinion steering. Stopping power is drastically improved thanks to a front power disc brake conversion with black calipers and drilled/slotted rotors, paired with freshly resurfaced rear drums.
