The build in detail.
Only six original Shelby Daytona Coupes were ever built, and together they did something no American car had done before, winning the 1965 GT World Championship outright and beating Ferrari at its own game. This continuation car, chassis CSX9170, carries that shape and that number forward, finished in the blue and white stripes that made the original famous. It arrived at Crown as a genuine rolling chassis, ready for its heart.
A big-block V8 went in, backed by ceramic-coated exhaust headers and side pipes that keep engine bay temperatures in check without hiding the sound this car is supposed to make. An MSD ignition system and a full cooling package, radiator hoses fitted and routed exactly as the chassis demands, rounded out the mechanical install.
Comfort was not an afterthought. A Sanden air conditioning compressor and full climate system went in around the original Daytona proportions, vents worked out to fit a cabin that was never designed with modern air conditioning in mind. Fitted black leather bucket seats keep the interior focused and correct to the car’s racing roots.
Every Superformance chassis that leaves Crown gets a full four-wheel alignment and a genuine road test before delivery, with a clean Arizona title in hand. This Daytona Coupe left ready to drive, wearing the same stripes and the same fight that made the original unbeatable.
