The build in detail.
Black paint. A single silver stripe down the centre. That is the whole of the visual brief on this car, and it took someone longer to settle than the engine did.
This is the part of a Cobra build people underestimate. The mechanical specification narrows quickly, because there are only so many sensible answers. The look does not narrow at all. A Superformance MKIII will wear almost anything and look correct doing it, which sounds like freedom and is actually the problem. When every option works, nothing chooses itself.
Underneath the paint this one got what these cars need to be usable rather than admirable: a crate V8 installed and tuned here, a Tremec five speed, adjustable electric power steering, the full ignition, wiring and cooling installation, and air conditioning built in from the start rather than apologised for later. Fitted leather buckets, roll bar padding, a four wheel alignment and a road test before it went anywhere near a customer.
The stripe is the part you will notice first and the part that took the least labour by an enormous margin. That is usually how it goes. The decisions that feel biggest to the person choosing are rarely the ones that consume the shop, and the decisions that consume the shop are rarely the ones anyone asks about at a fuel stop.
We think that is worth saying plainly, because it changes what you should be asking a shop before you commit. Not what colour. Not what engine. Ask what happens between the crate arriving and the car being registered, and ask who does it.
If you are somewhere in that decision now, we are happy to talk it through before you have spent anything.
One stripe.
One decision.
